In 13 November 1985 the hero National Soviet ( national hero of URSS ) was passed away, the legendary Alexander Pokryshkin fighter pilots. He became the first triple hero of the URSS.
The author of the term "height - speed - maneuver - fire" was born on 6 March, born in 1913 in Novonikolayevsk (now Novosibirsk) in a working family. He studied at the Aviation Engineering School Perm. In September 1938 he went to examinations without lectures at the Fliegerclub. In 1939, Pokryshkin graduated from the Kachin Air Force Pilot School. Then the young man was sent to the 55th Fighter Wing, the Russian-Soviet border.
The first day of the Great Patriotic War, Alexander ... Bombardier Soviet Su-2. Of course, by accident. The injured pilot landed in a field on the trunk and the perpetrator had not received a heavy penalty.
Pokryshkin soon became a commander of the 9th Air Guard Division in Mariupol. In 1953 he was promoted to general and one year later he became deputy commander of the Luftwaffe in Rostov-on-Don. In August 1968 he was appointed deputy commander of the air defense forces, and in December 1972 he became Marshal of the Luftwaffe.
At the end of the Second World War Pokryshkin became the most famous driver in the world, not only because of its achievements, but also the fact that it has developed new air combat elements. Pokryshkin was a great tactician. He collected and analyzed information on dogfights successfully before the Second World War. His motto was "Fighters Wanted - not how many enemies, but they are."
The Germans warned his fighters: "The Russian ace in the air!". Soviet propagandists helped put fear in the hearts of German pilots Attention! Attention! Pokryshkin in the air. "For the destruction of the Russian, high rewards were appointed, but Alexander was not alone, there were air raids as Rechkalov, Klubov, Glinka brothers Fadeev, Babak and Fedorov in his regiment.
Alexander has received numerous awards: four orders from Lenin, Order of the October Revolution, four orders of the Red Banner, two orders of Suvorov (2nd class), two orders of the Red Star, a series of other medals and orders from abroad, such as The Medal of Emerging US Army.
In 1978 the Soviet astronomer Nikolai Chernykh was discovered a small planet named after Pokryshkin [left-sidebar]
