Jizaburo Ozawa

He was born in 2 OCTOBRE 1886 in Koyu District, Miyazaki, Japon , and He was dead in 9 NOVEMBRE 1966 in Tokyo, Japon.

Vice-Admiral Ozawa will be of all the important maritime engagements of the Pacific. At the command of the Malaysian maritime force in 1941, he understood the importance of aircraft carriers. He also quickly realized that an air naval force could defeat the biggest warships. He applied this tactic in his victory in the Indian Ocean when his planes succeeded in sinking the Prince of Wales and the Repulse, two important ships of the English fleet. Churchill took the hard blow to the news. Ozawa is then in command of the fleet for the Battle of the Philippines in 1944. He is also the one who orchestrates the trap set at Halsey by sending him running after his aircraft carriers which serve as bait and during this time he Threatens the landing beaches of Leyte which are left under the protection of insufficient cruisers to face the approaching Japanese fleet. Ozawa will end the war with the rank of Vice Admiral having refused the rank of Admiral judging more important the defense of his country than the honors of the rank. He will be the last commander-in-chief of the combined Japanese fleet of this war.
